One of the most significant ways to help promote change is through education.
Over the fall of 2021, the WGI Board of Directors completed eight hours of social justice and diversity training, presented by the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) of Greater Dayton.
“Completing these diversity training sessions was a critical step in our approach to the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion within WGI,” said Ed Devlin, Board President. “They were a great tool for our board to use in furthering the conversation of awareness, and even sparking ideas on advocacy for us to incorporate in the future.”
Since its inception in 1978, the NCCJ has actively fought to eliminate bias, bigotry, and all other forms of discrimination present in our society. The organization focuses on strategies to empower current and future leaders while promoting community transformation. The WGI Board of Directors is proud to learn from such an incredible organization, and if you want to learn more about the NCCJ, click here.
These training sessions are one of many initiatives that WGI recently implemented to become a more inclusive organization and expand its mission through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“While we know there is always more to learn about properly serving all of our communities, we are working hard to create a mindful organization founded on equality and inclusion.” – Ron Nankervis, CEO of WGI.
