Director of Percussion

Thomas Randle HS in Lamar CISD(Houston Suburb) is seeking a Director of Percussion for our cluster. Our cluster includes Wright JH(grade 6-8) and Thomas Randle HS(grades9-11) Both campuses are brand new and going into our second year.

Both schools experienced great success in their first year. Thomas Randle advanced to UIL Area Marching in the Fall and competed very well only having freshman and sophomores. The concert band has also advanced to the Area level of the TMEA Honor Band listening process.

We are looking for someone to join our team and help grow this program from the ground up. This is a great opportunity to make something special and help create a culture of excellence from the beginning.

Duties would include:
Daily beginning Percussion class
JH percussion in band classes
HS Percussion classes
All Summer percussion camps, after school rehearsals, sectionals, games, and contests.

This is a district funded position. Pay is $30,000. Benefits are not included. Work would begin on July 20th at percussion camp and continue through percussion camp at the end of the school year.

Opportunities to teach private lessons before or after school are also available.

We will also be hiring an additional percussion tech to assist with the drumline/front ensemble in the Fall season.
