Over the last 23 years, Nicole Younger has worn many hats ranging from performer, writer, director, designer, and choreographer, to name a few. Now she is adding serving on the WGI Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee to that list.

Nicole has instructed scholastic and independent color guard programs up and down the east coast, the mid-west, Texas and New York. She has been a color guard staff member at Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps (TX) and the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (IA), where she spent two years as the horn-line choreographer. Younger spent three years with Monarch Independent Percussion as the movement specialist as they went into their first season of World Class, finishing in the top ten. 

Nicole now has her sights on the judging side of the marching arts. In 2020, Nicole started her judge training journey online and is anticipating in-person training over the next year. She is also working on getting her DCI judges certification and actively judging marching band shows this fall. Her biggest motivation in learning and becoming a judge is having representation and having women and women of color in those spaces. 

She is humbled and honored to be sharing space with the fantastic people involved with the WGI DEI Committee. She is also excited to start mentoring a member of the WGI Future Leaders Program. 

Launched in November of 2019, the DEI committee includes Rodney Bailey, Ed Devlin, Fred Feeney, Shavon Garcia, Wayne Harris, Tony Nuñez, Noreen Roberts, Terry Sanders, and Kevin Shah.
