Congratulations to all of our 2025 Winds Open finalists! Review their productions below in order of Finals placement.
Scholastic Open
1st - Daviess County HS (91.675)





Daviess County HS reminded everyone to take a deep breath with their show Echos Of The Chakras. The performers started and ended their show in a yoga pose. The vibrant floor and uniforms were just as enchanting as the music that they played.
1st - Robert Vela HS (91.675)





Robert Vela HS looked stunning with their white and gold uniforms that were complimented by the purple and silver uniforms of the dancers surrounding them. Their mesmerizing performance, Rings of Ascension featured a crowd pleasing trio with a flute, an alto flute, and a bass flute.
3rd -Bob Jones HS (89.600)





Bob Jones HS took the floor with faces of white and tombstones of Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss, Rossini, Verdi, and Chopin. While playing the works of these classical composers, the performers were playing the role of spirits in a graveyard. Their 2025 show Decomposers was a chilling and exciting program that the audience loved.
4th - Miamisburg HS (89.488)





Miamisburg HS took the audience to the coldest parts of the ocean with their show entitled Ice-BURG. The performers impressed the crowd by often playing while on moving iceberg props. The show featured a stunning flute and soprano saxophone duet of My Heart Will Go On.
5th - Valley Christian HS (88.113)





Valley Christian HS are masters of storytelling. Their 2025 program entitled Can You Find The Duck? was an extraordinary adventure into the “world of the ducks.” The performers played incredible music, all while a giant duck was running around the floor.
6th - Hernando HS (86.575)





Once Upon A New York Tune was an incredibly fun program from Hernando HS. Their backdrops of storefronts and jazz clubs that transported spectators right into The Big Apple. The performers had some incredible dance moments in their show with and without their instruments. The performers played and moved with excitement that reached into the audience.
7th - North Forney HS (86.100)





North Forney HS started their 2025 program, Sanctuary, with an enchanting bassoon solo. As the show progresses, props are inflated one after another which is paralleled by their movement often being rippled. The show ended powerfully with all the props inflated and the performers in unison.
8th - Corinth Holders HS (79.525)





Corinth Holders HS took the audience on a journey with their 2025 program Take Me Home. One side of the floor looked like the countryside while the other side of the floor was a big city. The group of course concluded their show with a stunning version of Take Me Home, Country Roads.
9th - Lake Orion hS (78.950)





Lake Orion’s show Alone Out There had unique aural elements to their show; their program featured a vocal soloist and galactic sound effects created by various instruments. Throughout their show, their floor became filled with colors of galaxies from their props. Their performance was truly out of this world.
Independent Open
1st - Valhalla WInds (91.600)





Valhalla Winds looked outstanding in their cowboy hats and masks. Their show The Saloon Of Lost Souls told the story of the spirits of the Old West claiming their newest spirit. Their performance was visually and musically spectacular.
2Nd - River City Rhythm (91.225)





Starting their show perfectly still, the sounds of crumbling marble brought River City Rhythm to life. Their program Statuesque was absolutely gorgeous; from the beautiful white uniforms to the ensemble singing, to the incredible soloists, River City Rhythm stunned the crowd with their performance.
3rd - Elevate Winds (88.500)





Elevate Winds starts their 2025 show, Mad Mad World with Strawberry Fields Forever which sets the tone for this show in Wonderland. The performers, dressed as the Mad Hatter, had choreography with their hats and tea party stools which created an impressive challenge that was well handled while playing their instruments. The music was beautifully arranged and sounded amazing in their finals performance.
4th - MBI Winds (82.950)





MBI Winds had the crowd rocking out with the performers on the floor. Their show Amped featured amp props all over the floor that were moved and utilized in unique ways. There were two soloists that played their solos connected to a microphone and used a pedal to make their horns sound just like electric guitars.
5th - Convergence Indoor Winds (81.575)





Convergence Indoor Winds’ 2025 program entitled Echos was a beautiful show. The performers looked stunning in their orange uniforms that matched their orange floor. The show featured a beautiful woodwind duet to As It Was.
6th - Evidence Winds from William Carey University (80.875)





Evidence Winds from William Carey University’s show entitled Wait started off with sounds of dial-up internet and static followed by a voice that said “connection lost, please wait.” The show starts off with greyscale static but by the end, the floor is filled with color symbolizing connection has been restored. The performers played with an incredible passion that made this show extra special.
