2025 SO Class Finalist Review

Congratulations to all of our 2025 Scholastic Open class finalists! Review their productions below in order of Finals placement.

1st - Little Elm HS (98.400)

Outfitted in all black with a floor of grey, Little Elm High School performed their 2025 program, “Unadorned.” Their show features a flag line that when they toss their poles, reveal an ombre blue silk beneath the original black one, a rifle feature using benches to toss from and fall onto, and a flag feature that begins with the entire team seated in different spots throughout the floor.

2nd - Shenendehowa HS (95.400)

“Heroes Behind the Headset” tells the crowd about the hard work put in by the people who operate 9-1-1 lines in Shenendehowa High School’s 2025 program. The team opened up their show by two athletes doing chin stands on top of props and another doing a headspring, leaving members with a standing ovation from the amazed crowd at the conclusion of their performance.

3rd - Noblesville HS (95.300)

Noblesville High School takes the audience on a journey of a group of people that need help but won’t pursue any, during their 2025 show, “Twelve.” The show features a sabre line that spins two weapons at once, a large amount of the team on rifle and an ending dance hit where athletes scream out the final lyrics of their show to the crowd.

4th - Pearland HS (95.050)

Pearland High School tells the story of the “Little Girl Blue” in their 2025 show. Dressed in different shades of blue and a variety of costumes, members complete a beautiful opening flag feature, rifle and dancer partner tosses and a perfectly in-sync silent flag hit to close out their show.

5th - Emerson HS (93.350)

Emerson High School opened their 2025 show, “Enjoy the Silence,” dressed in all white, slowly tearing off pieces of their costume during their dance and tosses to reveal a black layer underneath. Covering their mouths as they move across the floor, Emerson High School left the audience speechless after a stunning performance in finals.

6th - Westlake HS (tx) (91.350)

Large pink and purple clothes are carried across the floor by Westlake High School’s dance line in their 2025 show, “Gratitude.” The team gracefully spun flags during a silent flag feature, used incredible technique in their weapon tosses and made the audience feel an immense amount of “Gratitude” with their dazzling facial expressions that the crowd will not forget anytime soon.

7th - Lowndes HS (90.700)

Negative words are written down the arms and taped across the mouths of performers from Lowndes High School as they take on their 2025 show, “Surviving the Power of Words.” Intense emotions can be seen on the faces of each performer while they spin a powerful flag feature about pushing through the cruel words of others and always remembering to spread love, not hate.

8th - Timber creek HS (Fl) (90.450)

Tons of sharp dance moves, a turn sequence and an exhilarating rifle feature dazzled the audience during Timber Creek High School’s 2025 program, “Circle Cycle.” Spinning on their knees during their ending flag toss and performing with a great amount of passion, Timber Creek High School left their mark in finals.

9th - Oviedo HS (89.250)

Black cloth blankets the heads of performers from Oviedo High School in their 2025 show, “Alternate World.” Mesmerizing the audience, athletes open their program with a sharp dance feature, followed by the entrance of their sabre line, who are all still clocked in fabric. Oviedo High School truly took the crowd to an “Alternate World.”

10th - Cy-Fair HS (88.800)

Cy-Fair High School began their 2025 program, “Somewhere to Belong,” by members walking aimlessly throughout the floor, trying to decide where they should go. In the middle of the floor, a performer looks for a way out of the translucent prop in front of them, while watching the rest of the team from the other side, emphasizing the point of wanting to find “Somewhere to Belong,” just like everyone else.

10th - Choctaw HS (88.800)

Starting their show surrounding three poles on their floor, Choctaw High School began their 2025 program, “When Three People Meet,” with a stunning dance feature. Using an incredible amount of teamwork throughout the performance, members lift one another up, pass around equipment and move one of their poles throughout the floor to be used over the top of their rifle line while they toss.

12TH - Lockport Township HS (86.300)

With thorns across their floor and props, along with tattered cut skirts, Lockport Township High School brought the audience to “The Final Hour.” The show includes a flag feature using rope instead of poles to stun the crowd as they move in sync and dancers against the floor, showcasing a struggle coming to a close.

13th - James Bowie HS (Austin) (85.750)

Using sharp movements, props and continuously changing placements across the floor, James Bowie High School Austin captivated audience members with their 2025 show, “Echoes of Me.” Ending on an intense flag hit, performers left the crowd cheering to see more of their echoes.

14th - Palm Desert Charter MS (85.000)

Walking onto the floor, athletes from Palm Desert Charter Middle School looked up into the audience, waving at the crowd, setting the scene for their 2025 program, “Welcome to Middle School.” Featuring a full team rifle line, tosses on top of desks and while a giant pencil went over their heads, this team gave the audience the most fun middle school experience.

15th - Holly Springs HS (84.300)

Opening their 2025 show with a magical dance and flag feature, Holly Springs High School teaches the audience about “What the World Needs Now.” Throughout the show, the team opens a set of props to reveal many negative words, later closing and moving them across the floor to transform the atmosphere from one full of negativity, to one about love and kindness.
