2025 Percussion Concert Class Finalist Review

Congratulations to all of our 2025 Concert class finalists!  Review their productions below in order of Finals placement.

A Class

1st - Everett HS (91.200)

Everett High School’s program “The Thread of Fate” tells the story of the Fates from Ancient Greece and how the thread of life is connected. The show explains that human hands cannot mold the thread of fate.

1st - Selma HS (91.200)

Selma High School’s program “Three Dances” explores intricate music that keeps them moving through all parts of the show with an intense ending.  

3rd - Hatboro-Horsham HS (87.700)

Hatboro-Horsham High School’s program “Glasscapes” featured reflective uniforms, glass-covered instruments, and ethereal music.

4th - Newnan HS (85.900)

Newnan High School’s program “Where I Belong” has a down-home feel with cowboy hats, flannels, a banjo, and more! This show features “Take Me Home, Country Roads” in a unique way that ends so peacefully. 

5th - Canton McKinley HS (83.650)

Canton McKinley High School’s program “All That Remains” explores moments through life. They connect with each other by embracing memories. The show ends by saying “After all of the moments have gone and past, all that remains are the memories.”

6th - Lowell HS (81.000)

Lowell High School’s program “Mie Dansante: The Dancing Plague” showcased just that. There was a continuous “dance plague” throughout the entire show. Performers were constantly moved by the music!

7th - Atoka HS (69.500)

Atoka High School’s program “Back In My Day” featured several popular songs throughout the decades. This show tells the story of a dad and his kids arguing about what music they should play. Ultimately, they all agreed to listen to “Fly Like an Eagle” by the Steve Miller Band.

Open Class

1st - North Forney HS (96.350)

North Forney High School’s program “Momentum” was full of it! These performers had a high velocity performance that kept them going. 

2nd - Tomball HS (96.025)

Tomball High School’s program features, laughter, tears and more! Performers play with intensity and ease throughout their program.

3rd - Campbell County HS (91.850)

Campbell County High School’s program “HAMMER Time” begins with the hammering of a bell. Performers played intensely for the length of the show and it ends with many hammers and the quote “You can’t touch this.”

4th - Muscle Shoals HS (91.550)

Muscle Shoals High School’s program “Carmen” plays selections from the Carmen Suites with ease. Each performer even wears a rose either in their hair or on their suit.

5th - Penn-trafford HS (87.500)

Penn-Trafford High School’s program “Home” starts with doorbells to this family’s new home. Performers create a cozy environment for the audience by explaining that home is where you grow up wanting to leave and you grow old trying to find your way back.

6th - Milford HS (OH) (86.875)

Milford High School’s (OH) program “The Wild” starts out with intense tribal music that captivates the audience immediately. Throughout the show, there are several wild calls that come with using instruments that could be found in the wild at the end. 

7th - West Clermont HS (83.150)

West Clermont High School’s program “The Hunted” traps its’ members on an island where they are being hunted as part of a game made by the island’s owner. Performers hide behind their instruments at times while being egged on by their hunter. They play music that mimics an island that includes wind, birds, and branches snapping so they camouflage themselves in order not to be found. 

8th - Broadneck HS (82.450)

Broadneck High School’s program “Elegy of the Fallen” begins with bells and the crosses of fallen soldiers on the floor. This program honors military members who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

9th - Spring-ford HS (77.550)

Spring-Ford High School’s program “Valhalla” depicts battle scenes by using shadow art in the back of the floor. These scenes show a struggle between Vikings while strong music is being played.

World Class

1st - Ayala HS (97.850)

Ayala High School’s program “A Gentle Reminder” explores aggressive and soft music. Performers move with each other with impeccable timing. 

2nD - Grassfield HS (94.850)

Grassfield High School’s program “Atomic: From Fission to Fallout” takes the audience on a musical journey of the building, releasing, explosion and fallout of an atomic bomb.  

3rD - Plainfield Hs (IN) (93.450)

Plainfield High School’s (IN) program “The World We Know” showcases the earth as we know it. Throughout the program you hear echos of “this is our home.”

4TH - Corona del Sol HS (92.400)

Corona Del Sol High School’s program “Fountain of Youth” begins their show by using water to create music to add to their soundtrack. The water bowls are used throughout the show in various ways to add to the soundtrack and represent the “Fountain of Youth.”

5TH - Corinth Holders Combined Schools (87.750)

Corinth Holders Combined Schools program “Inferno” shows what happens when you play with fire. Performers in fiery red vests play this show with enough energy to light a flame!

6th - Tunstall HS (81.850)

Tunstall High School’s program “Redux- Evolution of Concert Class” tells the history of Tunstall High School in Concert Class as well as the history of the class itself. The show talks about the importance of classical music in Concert Class today.
