The Ardrey Kell Mighty Knight Band is a comprehensive 9-12 band program located in Charlotte, NC. Serving nearly 200 students, the program offers three concert bands, percussion ensemble, a nationally recognized and competitive Marching Band program, Indoor Winds, Jazz Ensemble, two competitive winterguards, chamber ensembles, and numerous specialty music courses. Battling between hope and despair as the crew loses their guiding light—the beacon of a distant lighthouse and the safety of shore. The absence of the light forces the sailors to confront not only the dangers of the sea, but their own inner darkness as they search desperately for the way home. Why should the lead guitarists have all the fun? MBI Winds asked the same question and decided to wire up band instruments with pickups, plug them into effects pedals, and turn it up to 11! The program weaves from classic wind-ensemble sounds to hard-rocking overdrive. The 2025 show features musical selections by Muse, Bonerama/Led Zeppelin, and Queen.
