Guard Director Opening
McKinney North HS in McKinney, Texas (North of Dallas) has an immediate opening for a Color Guard Director.
Pay will be based on experience with a range of 30-40K. McKinney ISD offers optional health insurance and benefits for this position.
The requirements for this position include:
⁃ All administrative/planning responsibilities associated with being the Head Guard Director for the Fall Season and Winter Guard.
⁃ Teach one class per school day, 50 minutes.
⁃ All after school marching band and Winter Guard rehearsals.
⁃ Prior teacher experience, director experience is preferred.
⁃ Prior Drum Corps/Winter Guard experience.
⁃ Good communication skills.
⁃ The ability to work with a very collaborative team.
⁃ Experience with choreographing weapons, flags, and dance.
We already have an established Guard Tech/Dance Instructor who has been a great part of our team.
McKinney North HS has had great success over the past few years, making Area finals in 2021 for the first time since moving into a new region, placing 3rd at Area and qualifying for UIL State marching band in 2022 (non state year), finishing 6th at the BOA Waco Regional (first time at BOA) in 2022. The MNHS Winter Guard was the NTCA Scholastic A champion in 2022, and placed 4th in Scholastic A in 2023.
