WGI is looking for content creators and photographers to help provide media coverage at your local regional events! These are volunteer positions.
This is a great way to gain social media marketing experience and a strong piece for building your portfolio. Crew members must have their own equipment to gather coverage of the weekend’s events.
Equipment needed includes a camera for photographers. Content creators must have equipment to capture and upload content on site, like a phone or tablet, or camera equipment to film and edit a video montage.

Content Creator
Details: Content Creator volunteers help cover our regional events across WGI’s social media channels in real time. As a part of the WGI Social Media Crew, you will work from your mobile phone or tablet, capturing events and creating posts during the event on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Content Creators with an interest and prior experience in video production can instead elect to capture footage at the event to turn into an event recap video (see example below).
Role Requirements:
- Strong attention to spelling/punctuation/grammar.
- Must be proficient in the social media platforms listed above.
- Basic knowledge of dance/visual technique, or equipment technique for guard is a plus.
- Applicants pursuing a degree in marketing, journalism, photography, film, or communications are preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Must not be performing with a group this season.
- Must complete a free background check.

Video Highlight Crew
Details: Video Highlight Crew volunteers will get the experience of capturing up close and personal footage of the exciting WGI activity. Crew members will shoot footage from regional competitions and edit a short montage featuring the highlights from the WGI regional.
Requirements: Applicants must have video shooting/editing experience and access to HD recording equipment, and, most importantly, a passion for the performing arts.
Additional Requirements: Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply. All WGI staff and Video Highlight Crew members must complete a free background check. More information will be provided upon event assignment.

Photographer
Details: Photographers will capture action shots of competing groups and performers at regional WGI events. WGI will promote your photography website and sales of the images you capture. This is a volunteer position.
Role Requirements:
- Must have professional photography experience.
- Must have access to camera equipment.
- Must have a passion for the performing arts.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Must not be performing with a group this season.
- Must complete a free background check.
