Has your program been contemplating adding a WINDS group?
For the 2025 and 2026 WGI seasons, winds groups new to WGI competition (or a returning group that hasn’t participated in a WGI event since the 2022 season) can enjoy one FREE EVENT REGISTRATION.
The registration fee for their first contest of the season would be waived, but the unit would be responsible for all other expenses related to attendance and participation. This unprecedented proposal came from the Winds Advisory Board to promote participation and make the Winds activity more accessible.
“Our goal is to show more directors that this is an outlet worth pursuing with your music program, “said Winds Division Director Wayne Dillon. “Removing the financial barrier for entry allows you to bring your program and witness the incredible and positive effect that WGI Winds has on groups of young performers and musicians.”
This policy change follows the highest regional and World Championships participation for the Winds division since its inception in 2015. The Winds Advisory Board hopes this policy will bolster new entries and encourage participation for the 2025 season and beyond.
