WGI is saddened to hear of the loss of long-time WGI staff writer Michael Boo.
For over four decades, Michael has championed the voice of the marching arts, covering countless WGI World Championships, DCI Tours, BOA Grand National Championships, and more. No matter the year or the competition, Michael's words transcend the page to frame his passion for the activity and place you in the scene of the subject.
Involved in the marching arts since 1975, Michael's career (performer, educator, author, composer and beyond) has led to both national and international recognition, including multiple American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP Plus) awards. Michael was a genuine beacon of knowledge, momentum and positivity in the marching arts that will truly be missed. Our thoughts are with Michael's family and friends.
Michael has left us a tremendous legacy of stories throughout his entire career. Please see below for just a snapshot of the articles he's written for WGI.
