||Greg has held teaching, writing, consulting and adjudication roles with associations, marching programs, competitive parade units, and indoor ensembles ranging from drum corps finalists to first year exhibition units. He began his judging career 16 years ago and includes indoor & outdoor pageantry panels in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, California, Missouri, Texas, and the Carolinas.
Greg caught the marching arts bug performing in Bands of America Grand National Finals as a freshman in high school. He started his drum corps performance career as a charter member of Carolina Crown (‘90) and then joined the Madison Scouts where he performed (‘92,’95), taught (‘96-’97), served on the admin team (‘98), and returned to perform in both the 2006 Alumni Reunion Project and the 2014 Macy’s Parade Corps.
He is returning as Drill Designer for the Govenaires Drum & Bugle Corps in 2020 (Program Consultant ‘08, Drill Designer ‘12). He has also worked with Tarheel Sun (‘96), Minnesota Brass (Visual Caption Assistant ‘02-’03, Visual Caption Head ‘04-’05, Drill Writer ‘07), Southwind (Visual team ‘99-’02 & ‘06, Visual Consultant ‘14, Drill Designer ‘2015-’16, Artistic Director ‘16), and Music City Drum & Bugle Corps (Drill Design Team '18, Drill Designer '19) and Music City Indoor Winds (Staging Designer '19). In addition to his drum corps work, he consults and composes drill designs for units running the gamut from state finalists and circuit champions to traditional high-stepping show bands.
He’s a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science & Mathematics and Appalachian State University. He currently lives in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.
