Mr. Gary Graves holds undergraduate degrees in both marketing management and education as well as a master's degree in education from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also holds National Board Certification as an exceptional needs specialist. He has been honored by Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities, Who's Who Among America's Teachers as well as by the Mississippi Dept. of Education as a Star Teacher. In addition, has received the Association for Excellence in Education grant on three separate occasions. Most recently he has worked with the Mississippi Department of Education and the Southern Mississippi Youth Entrepreneurship Program to develop the curriculum for entrepreneurship programs used in schools throughout the state. In 2015 he was awarded the Leo W. Seal Grant for Innovative Education. Mr. Graves currently teaches learning strategies, entrepreneurship and marketing at Petal High School.
He has judged marching band, color guard and indoor percussion throughout the South and Midwest for over twenty years. He is currently a judge for Gulf Coast Color Guard and Percussion Association, the Mississippi Indoor Association, and the Louisiana Color Guard and Percussion Curcuit. In 2014 he was inducted into the Gulf Coast Color Guard & Percussion Circuit Hall of Fame as well as the Louisiana-Mississippi Color Guard & Percussion Hall of Fame. and Mr. Graves is in his 14th year as a visual judge for WGI Percussion.
