Azle High School Winds Presents “VOLTA’IRE”

Azle High School Winds from Azle, Texas, will make their second trip to the WGI Winds World Championships in Dayton after winning the Scholastic Open class in 2018. Azle HS, competing in Scholastic World Class this season, will be presenting their 2019 production, “VOLTA’IRE,” featuring all original music by Andrew Markworth. Volta’ire is inspired by the Cirque Du Soleil production “Volta” and the French philosopher “Voltaire.” Azle Winds will also compete in the WGI Dallas Winds Regional and their local NTCA circuit in the World Class Division.

Azle Winds combines the program’s top 43 woodwinds and brass performers from the high school. The ensemble is under the direction of Brandon Day, and the show design is done by Andrew Markworth and Tim Fairbanks, designers for Rhythm X Winds.
