Zildjian Marketing Department Reorganizes
Norwell, MA - June 2006 - The Avedis Zildjian Company is proud to announce the promotion of John Sorenson to Director of MarCom and Sheet Cymbal Marketing, the promotion of Jason LaChapelle to Marketing Communications Manager and the appointment of Ron Allman as Product Manager for Drumsticks and Accessories.
Sorenson is responsible for the development of all marketing communication material through the MarCom staff and management of the Zildjian Sheet cymbal lines. "With the Zildjian Company's unprecedented growth in the important sheet segment of the cymbal category, John's established track record proves why he was placed in charge of this strategic product line," says Brad Baker, Zildjian Vice President - Chief Marketing Officer.
Sorenson joined the Company in 1996 with responsibility for the Drumstick, Mallet and Accessory business. Examples of the product innovation that John helped bring to Zildjian are the ANTI-VIBE™ and DIP® drumsticks, and the Travis Barker stick. Under his guidance, Zildjian launched the Artist Series Stick and Cymbals bags, bringing creativity and innovation to a commodity-oriented segment.
Jason LaChapelle has been promoted to the position of Marketing Communications Manager. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, LaChapelle joined the company in 2002. He was responsible for 2006 Edition of the Z Time magazine, manages the Zildjian website, MarCom project management, media relations and is currently pursuing an MBA at Boston University.
Allman will be responsible for all marketing aspects of the drumstick and accessory lines. Most recently at Analog Devices, Allman was Product Manager for their DSL and cable TV amplifier product lines for the past 8 years. He has also held other marketing positions with Xerox and Raytheon after receiving an undergraduate and graduate degree in Engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Boston University.
Allman has been actively playing drums for over 30 years, which includes studies with Alan Dawson and Bob Gullotti and currently gigs in the Boston area.
