Norwell, MA - April 2006 - After drawing record-breaking crowds in the Midwest and the West Coast U.S. in 2005, Zildjian's Steve Gadd Clinic Tour will be visiting markets in Canada and the East Coast of the U.S. in June 2006. "Mission From Gadd 3" will be making eleven stops beginning in Toronto, Canada, and continuing all the way to Hallandale, FL.
"Mission From Gadd 3" will feature many of the same elements as the previous tours, including a self-contained tour bus, an exclusive Sales Event featuring special 'one-of-a-kind' Sound Lab Prototypes and factory selected cymbals from the Zildjian Vault with Zildjian Product Specialists on-hand, limited edition Mission From Gadd t-shirts, a "meet & greet" autograph session with Steve and each day culminating with a rare clinic performance by the legendary Steve Gadd.
The "Mission From Gadd" tours marked Steve's return to performing clinics after a 20-year absence from the scene. One of the most influential drummers of all time, Steve Gadd has been the driving force behind musicians such as Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Steely Dan, Chick Corea and countless others. Steve also received an honorary Doctorate of Music from Berklee College of Music and was inducted into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame in 2005.
Commented John DeChristopher, Zildjian's Vice President, Artist Relations & Event Marketing Worldwide, "Last year's "Mission From Gadd" tours were the biggest events ever to be presented at the retail level. Our objective was to present an event that provided the best possible experience for our dealers and Steve’s many fans – something people would remember for the rest of their lives, and we accomplished that. This year's format will be much the same, but with an even greater emphasis on our Sound Lab Prototypes, which were a huge part of the success of last year's tours."
Steve commented, "I had a great time last year sharing my experiences with drummers and meeting some wonderful people. I’m looking forward to hitting the road with the Zildjian guys again."
The tour will begin Saturday, June 3rd in Toronto, Ontario and finish Friday, June 16th in Hallandale, FL. For more information and a daily "clinic diary" during the tour, visit www.zildjian.com.

The Avedis Zildjian Company is a global musical instrument manufacturer of premium cymbal, drumstick, and percussion products for the drumming, percussion and musical instrument markets. Its core values, stemming from fourteen-generations of family leadership and craftsmanship, are derived from the highest quality standards, making Zildjian products the most requested musical instruments in the world.
In 1623 Turkey, Armenian alchemist Avedis created a secret process for making cymbals. (As his reputation grew, the sultan bestowed upon him the name "Zildjian," or "cymbal smith".) The company eventually moved to America in 1929. Although tradition dictated that the father pass the secret metallurgical formula on to the eldest son, Craigie Zildjian became the first female family member to work in the business and was appointed CEO in 1999.
Today, Zildjian is the world's #1 maker of cymbals and drumsticks and is recognized as the oldest continuously owned family-run business in the U.S. by Dun & Bradstreet. Zildjian recorded annual gross sales of over $50 Million for 2005, and employs 171 people worldwide.
