Performances by Berklee Faculty and SABIAN Endorsers Highlight the Day

MEDUCTIC, Canada (Aug. 16, 2007) – SABIAN was the center of attention at this year's four-day Berklee Percussion Festival, with an entire day dedicated to events involving the award-winning cymbal maker and SABIAN endorsers. Highlights including a ‘History of SABIAN' seminar, master classes, concert performances by notable Berklee faculty, and a solo presentation by Berklee alumnus Will Calhoun of Living Color made for a memorable day. The Berklee College of Music in Boston hosts the festival for young drummers and percussionists considering attending Berklee for full-time music study.

"The Berklee College of Music is an icon of music education," said SABIAN Senior Marketing Manager, Wayne Blanchard. "Participating in this festival was a great reminder of how personal and inspiring education can be. This was particularly evident when faculty members took the stage and proceeded to show us all what making music is really all about."

The day began with a "History of SABIAN" presentation from Blanchard that provided insight into SABIAN's award-winning cymbal innovations and a detailed look at the combination of traditional craftsmanship and pioneering design. In addition to the educational element, the day was filled with stellar performances by longtime SABIAN artists including: New York-based jazz drummer Carl Allen; Berklee jazz performance instructors Bob Tamagni and Yoron Israel; a local store clinic by Ralph Peterson; and the show closing highlight by Will Calhoun.

Concluded Blanchard: "SABIAN is very thankful to Yoron Israel, the staff and students at Berklee College for making this such an enjoyable and successful event."
